Stepping into a virtual internship environment at a firm like Dhir & Dhir Associates was an incredible opportunity. Despite the remote setup, I felt fully immersed in their operations, particularly within their pioneering ESG & Sustainability practice. This allowed me to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a field that’s rapidly shaping the future of business and law in India.
Key Learnings: ESG, Compliance & Corporate Advisory
My time at Dhir & Dhir Associates provided me with practical insights into the ever-evolving landscape of ESG regulations in India. I gained a comprehensive understanding of how legal risk management and sustainability-driven governance are becoming paramount for corporations.
A significant part of my responsibilities involved in-depth legal research on ESG frameworks, including crucial guidelines from SEBI and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. This research wasn’t just theoretical; it directly contributed to understanding how companies navigate these new compliance requirements.
Hands-On Contributions: Research, Updates & Manuals
I wasn’t just observing; I was actively contributing! I had the exciting task of developing internal legal update sheets. These sheets summarized recent legal developments under the Companies Act, SEBI regulations, IBC, and FDI policies. This was crucial for supporting client presentations and legal opinions, helping the firm’s clients understand the real-world impact of these changes.
Additionally, I contributed to creating practical manuals on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, and conducted legal research and analysis on FSSAI certificates for companies. These tasks honed my research skills and broadened my practical understanding of diverse legal areas.

This internship significantly broadened my understanding of ESG integration within corporate legal frameworks. I’m incredibly grateful to my mentors at Dhir & Dhir Associates—Deonn Nash Lobo Sir, Ishita Jha Ma’am, and Abhijeet Kashyap Sir—for fostering a learning environment that perfectly balanced legal precision with sustainability consciousness.
