About Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra Internship

The Office of Hon’ble Mr. Justice (Prashant Kumar) P.K. Mishra (“Office”) accepts internship applications on a rolling basis for August & December 2025. The internship programme is designed to provide law students/law graduates with a serious, structured opportunity to assist with legal research and related tasks in the Hon’ble Supreme Court.

Eligibility: Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra Internship

Applicants must be:

  • Currently enrolled in at least the 4th year of a 5-year integrated law programme or 2nd year of a 3-year LL.B. programme, or
  • Postgraduate law students; or
  • Recent law graduates.

The application requires the following:

  • Statement of Purpose (max 1 page)
  • Curriculum Vitae/Résumé
  • Writing Sample/Judicial Brief

Please note that applications submitted via email or any other channel will not be entertained.

Any academic writing sample (a project submitted for university, etc.) or a brief prepared in the course of a prior judicial internhip will suffice.

Application Timeline

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Candidates are encouraged to at least four weeks in advance of the month(s) in which they seek to intern.

Selection Process

Applications will be selected based on their eligibility and further shortlisted on the basis of merit. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a virtual interview. Final selections will be communicated 2-4 weeks prior to the internship start date.

Internship Duration and Schedule

Each internship will last a minimum of four weeks, starting from the first Monday of the month. Requests for longer internships or a different start date may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Orientation and Supervision

A short orientation session will be conducted at the beginning of each internship cycle. Interns will be supervised by Law Clerks and expected to comply with office protocols and research standards.

Nature of Work: PK Mishra Judicial Internship

  • Interns will assist with:
  • Preparation of briefs, background notes, issue synopses, and case summaries
  • Legal research
  • Attending court proceedings (subject to permission) and preparing minutes
  • Supporting work related to lectures, seminars, and academic writing.
