Our goal is to make legal education more accessible, engaging, and rooted in real-world skills.

About The Legal Mind Pvt. Ltd First Online Moot Court Competition

The Legal Mind proudly announces its First Online Moot Court Competition, a platform designed to challenge, inspire, and empower the next generation of legal professionals. This competition aims to simulate real courtroom experiences and provide participants with an opportunity to sharpen their research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills—all from the comfort of their own environment.

Eligibility

• The competition is open to all law students (3-year or 5-year courses) enrolled in a recognized law school/college/university.
• A team must consist of two speakers and one researcher. However, participation as a team of two (both speakers) is also allowed.

Registration: The Legal Mind Pvt. Ltd Online Moot Court Competition

• Teams must register by filling out the official registration form and paying the required fee (if applicable).
• Each team will be assigned a unique Team Code after successful registration.
• No changes in team composition will be allowed after registration.

Format of the Competition

• The competition will be held online via platforms like Zoom/Google Meet.
• It will consist of:
  • Preliminary Rounds
  • Quarter-Finals
  • Semi-Finals
  • Final Round

Moot Proposition

• The problem for the competition will be released on 4^th August, 2025
• The subject matter will be based on criminal law

Memorial Submission

• Each team must submit memorials for both sides (Petitioner and Respondent).
• Memorials must follow the prescribed format which will be shared in the rulebook.
• Late submissions may result in penalties or disqualification.

Oral Rounds

• Each team will be allotted 30 minutes total, i.e., 15 minutes per speaker (flexible within the team).
• Rebuttals (for Petitioner) and Sur-rebuttals (for Respondent) are allowed within the total time.
• The oral rounds will be judged based on:
  • Knowledge of Law & Facts
  • Application of Law
  • Argumentation Style
  • Court Etiquette
  • Response to Questions

Technical Requirements

• Participants must have a stable internet connection and a working mic/camera.
• All rounds will be recorded for transparency and review.
• Professional courtroom decorum and formal attire are mandatory during oral rounds.

• E-certificates will be provided to all participants.
• Cash prizes will be announced soon

Code of Conduct

• Any form of plagiarism, misconduct, or misrepresentation will lead to disqualification.
• Judges’ decisions shall be final and binding.
• The organizers reserve the right to resolve any disputes or modify rules if necessary.
