About the Role – Advocacy Officer (Climate & Ecosystems Team)
The Climate & Ecosystems team at Vidhi focuses on strengthening nature conservation laws and advocating for robust environmental governance. As an Advocacy Officer, you will lead strategic outreach efforts, build key partnerships, and enhance public engagement to drive impactful legal and policy reforms in the conservation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies to promote legal and policy reforms in conservation.
- Create stakeholder-specific messaging and dissemination plans for maximum impact.
- Transform complex research into accessible formats such as policy briefs, press releases, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
- Coordinate and document events such as consultations, roundtables, and conferences.
- Manage the team’s digital advocacy platforms with consistent updates and messaging.
- Support capacity-building initiatives and assist with communication goals.
Eligibility & Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in advocacy, communications, or stakeholder engagement.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- Basic proficiency in design and multimedia tools (PowerPoint, Canva, video editing, etc.).
Desirable Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in law, social sciences, or humanities.
- Experience working with CSOs, particularly in environmental or social justice sectors.
- Experience in government or civil society engagement.
- Experience in organizing multi-stakeholder events.
- Knowledge of qualitative research methods (surveys, interviews, focus groups).
Location & Remuneration
- Location: Delhi
- Type: Full-time (Initial contract of six months, renewable based on performance and funding)
- Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience, aligned with Vidhi’s internal standards.
