The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Invite “Winter Internship Programme (WIP) 2025-2026”. To spread awareness among university students about the need to protect and promote Human Rights, the Commission has been regularly conducting ‘Winter and Summer Internship Programmes’ since 1998 and 2000, respectively.

About Winter Internship National Human Rights Commission

The NHRC Winter Internship Programme (WIP) 2025 is a four-week intensive internship designed to nurture young minds passionate about human rights, law, and social justice.

Duration

15th December 2025 (Monday) to 9th January 2026 (Friday)

This prestigious internship offers participants a chance to engage in research, awareness activities, and projects directly related to human rights issues under the guidance of NHRC officials and experts.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are invited from students who meet the following eligibility conditions:

1. Law Students:
   1. Completed 1st year and pursuing 2nd or 3rd year of a 3-year LL.B. program, or
   2. Completed 3 years/Semester VI of a 5-year integrated LL.B. program (BA LL.B./BBA LL.B.), pursuing 4th or 5th year.
2. Postgraduate Candidates:
   1. Pursuing LL.M., PG Diploma in Human Rights, or M.A. in Human Rights.
   2. Postgraduate students in Political Science, Sociology, Social Work (MSW), Criminology, Public Administration, Rural Development, History, Economics, Commerce, Anthropology, Mass Communication, or International Relations are also eligible.
3. Academic Requirement:
   1. Minimum 65% marks in Class XII and in all subsequent semesters.
   2. Only students from regular courses of UGC-recognized universities are eligible.
4. Age Limit:
   1. The candidate must be below 28 years of age as of 1st October 2025.
5. Documents Required:
   1. Attested copies of mark sheets (from Class X onwards).
   2. A Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from the Head of Department (HoD), duly signed and dated.

Selection Process

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic record, statement of purpose, and LOR.
• Only selected applicants will receive further communication regarding the next steps of the internship.

Travelling Allowance & Stipend

•  The selected interns from outside Delhi will be allowed Sleeper AC 3 Tier train fare to New Delhi and back to their place of study through the shortest route.
• All selected interns who successfully complete the internship will be paid an amount of Rs. 12,000/- (Rupees Twelve Thousand only)
• An amount of Rs.15,000/-, Rs. 10,000/-, and Rs.5,000/- will be given as prize money for interns who are placed Ist, IInd, and IIIrd respectively for the Group Research Project.
