What is the AIBE-XX Exam?
The AIBE-XX (20th Edition) is a national-level examination conducted to assess the capability of law graduates to practice as legal professionals in India. Once a candidate clears the exam, they are awarded a Certificate of Practice by the Bar Council of India, allowing them to represent clients in court.
AIBE-XX 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for AIBE-XX, candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions:
- Educational Qualification: Candidate must have completed a 3-year or 5-year LLB degree from a recognised university.
- Enrollment with State Bar Council: The candidate must be enrolled with any State Bar Council under Section 24 of the Advocates Act, 1961.
- No Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in AIBE.
- Attempts Allowed: There is no limit on the number of attempts.
AIBE-XX Exam Pattern 2025
- Mode of Exam: Offline (pen and paper-based).
- Type of Questions: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions).
- Total Questions: 100.
- Subjects Covered: Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code, Evidence Act, Family Law, Public Interest Litigation, Professional Ethics, etc.
- Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes.
- Negative Marking: No negative marking.

The application fee for AIBE-XX is as follows:
- General / OBC candidates: ₹3,500 + Bank charges
- SC / ST candidates: ₹2,500 + Bank charges

- Online Registration begins : September 29, 2025.
- Payments through online mode begin : September 29, 2025.
- Online Registration closes : October 28, 2025.
- Last date for Payments : October 29, 2025.
