ToggleMSHRC Winter Internship 2025-2026
The Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission (MSHRC), Mumbai, is inviting applications for its prestigious Winter Internship Programme (WIP) 2025-2026, running from December 15, 2025, to January 9, 2026. The initiative is designed to boost human rights literacy across Maharashtra and offers law students unique exposure to legal research, field visits, and professional development.
Purpose
The program aims to spread human rights literacy and promote awareness of safeguards for human rights under Section 12(h) of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.
Duration
The internship will run from 15th December 2025 to 9th January 2026.
Eligibility
- Students in the 2nd and 3rd year of a 3-year LL.B. course.
- Students in the 3rd and 4th year of a 5-year LL.B. course.
- Submission of attested mark sheets is mandatory for the application.
Selection Criteria: Maharashtra Human Rights Commission internship
- Based on a 300-500-word write-up on human rights.
- Academic performance and research potential are considered.
- A maximum of 30 students will be selected.
Program Structure
- Interaction with MSHRC officials.
- Classroom sessions on human rights topics.
- Field visits to institutions like jails, NGOs, and police stations.
- Project work and library research.
Rules and Regulations
- Interns must attend regularly and adhere to a dress code.
- Certificates will be issued based on punctuality, discipline, and participation.

- Interns will receive study materials, access to the library, and refreshments.
- Accommodation and travel arrangements are the intern’s responsibility.

- Applications can be submitted online or via email.
- Selected interns will be notified by 5th December 2025
Undertaking
- Parents/guardians must acknowledge that interns may travel to various locations during the program and accept responsibility for their safety.
- The program is designed to provide practical exposure and enhance understanding of human rights issues.
