About RBI Legal Internship 2026

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) invites applications every year for its highly prestigious RBI Summer Internship Placement Programme 2025-2026 for Law or Legal/Commerce/Management/Banking/Finance/Economics etc. This internship offers shortlisted students’ hands-on exposure to banking, finance, policy research, and regulatory functions of India’s central bank.

What is RBI Summer Internship 2026 Placement?

RBI Summer Placement is a 3-month internship (April–July) offered to selected students from reputed Indian institutions. Interns work in core departments like monetary policy, financial markets, banking regulation, and economic research.

Who Can Apply: RBI Summer Law Internship 2026

Students eligible for RBI Summer Internship must be in the penultimate year of their course and belong to any of the following categories:

1. Post-Graduate Programmes
2. Integrated Five-Year Courses in:
   1. Management
   2. Statistics
   3. Law
   4. Commerce
   5. Economics
   6. Econometrics
   7. Banking
   8. Finance
3. Three-Year Full-Time Professional bachelor’s degree in law
4. Only students studying in institutions located in India.

How to Apply for RBI Summer Placement?

Follow these steps to apply online:

Step-by-Step Process

1. Visit the official RBI Summer Internship Application Portal.
2. Fill the online web-based application form between 15 October – 15 December.
3. Upload mandatory documents:
   1. Photograph
   2. Signature
   3. College Authorization Letter / Bonafide Certificate
4. Select the correct state and control office based on your college location.
5. Submit the form carefully—no corrections allowed after submission.

Important Note:

RBI does not accept applications via email/offline mode. Only the online application is valid.

General Rules & Instructions for Candidates

✔ One Candidate → One Control Office Only

You can apply only for the centre corresponding to your college location.

✔ No Document Submission Offline

Submit all details only online. No physical documents required during application.

✔ Accuracy Is Crucial

• No detail can be modified after submission.
• Incorrect or false information may lead to cancellation.

✔ Percentage Calculation

If your university uses CGPA/SGPA, convert it to percentage as per university norms and enter the same.

Selection Process: RBI Summer Law Internship 2025

Travel & Reimbursement

• Outstation candidates attending interviews must bear their travel cost.
• Selected candidates will get reimbursement of AC 2-Tier return railway fare for joining internship.

Stipend & Duration: RBI Summer Legal Internship 2026

• ✔ Monthly Stipend: ₹20,000
• ✔ Internship Duration: Up to 3 months (April–July)

Outstation candidates must arrange their own accommodation.

Before joining, all selected trainees must sign a confidentiality / secrecy declaration, as mandated for working with RBI’s sensitive documents.

Place of Summer Training

Trainees will work at RBI offices as per their state’s designated control office (refer to table above).
