Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Maximum 30 years as on the date of issue of the vacancy circular
Essential Qualification
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized university
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Regulatory Law or Communication Engineering
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as SCC Online, Manupatra
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience (Desirable)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in legal matters
- Exposure to regulatory laws, court cases, telecom and broadcasting matters
Nature of Duties (Key Responsibilities)
The Associate Consultant (Legal) will assist TRAI in:
- Drafting and vetting regulations, tariff orders, and legal documents
- Preparing case briefs and assisting in litigation management
- Coordinating with Advocates, Senior Counsels and Advocate-on-Record
- Conducting comparative legal research on regulatory frameworks of other countries
- Maintaining court-wise and category-wise case databases
- Attending court proceedings (physical or virtual)
- Providing legal inputs using online legal databases
- Any other work assigned by senior officers

Leave Entitlement
- 1.5 days paid leave for each completed month
- Gazetted holidays applicable
- Unused leave lapses at the end of the contract
- Principle of “No Work, No Pay” applicable
