HNLU Celebrates the Legacy of Swami Vivekananda
On 8 January 2026, Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur organised the 5th Swami Vivekananda Memorial Annual Lecture, reaffirming its commitment to honouring the life, philosophy, and timeless relevance of Swami Vivekananda, whose birth anniversary is observed across India as National Youth Day.

Key Highlights from Shri O. P. Choudhary’s Address
- Recalled Swami Vivekananda’s historic speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions, Chicago (18 September 1893) and highlighted how its powerful opening instantly connected with people worldwide.
- Described Swami Vivekananda as the true ambassador of Indian culture and values.
- Urged Gen Z students to:
- Step out of their comfort zones
- Choose courage over complacency
- Pursue passion with discipline and integrity
- Emphasised that health is the ultimate wealth.
- Shared his personal journey — from studying in government institutions to becoming one of the youngest IAS officers and later transitioning into public life — encouraging students to explore unconventional career paths with conviction.
Remarks by the Vice-Chancellor
Prof. (Dr.) V. C. Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor of HNLU, observed:
“In a time when success is often measured by followers, Shri O. P. Choudhary ji reminds us that real leadership is measured by service.”
He added that even after 123 years of Swami Vivekananda’s passing, his teachings continue to inspire Gen Z students.
