Introduction

As the global community approaches the 2030 deadline for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the interaction between intellectual property (IP) regimes and development priorities has become increasingly critical. In this context, the DPIIT–IPR Chair and the Centre for Innovation, Research and Facilitation (CIRF), Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, are organising an International Conference on “TRIPS and Sustainable Development Goals 2030: Global South Perspectives.”

The conference will be held in hybrid mode on 21–22 March 2026, bringing together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and innovators from across the world to deliberate on the evolving role of the TRIPS Agreement in shaping inclusive and sustainable development outcomes, particularly for countries of the Global South.
