Who Can Apply: World Bank Law Internship 2026

You may be eligible for the World Bank Legal Internship if you meet the following conditions:

• You are a citizen of an International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) member country
• You are currently enrolled in one of the following legal programs:
  • LL.B.
  • J.D.
  • LL.M.
  • S.J.D.
• Ph.D. in Law or an equivalent legal academic program
• You remain enrolled in your program during the internship period

Roles and Responsibilities of Legal Interns

Selected interns will work under the supervision of Chief Counsels, Senior Counsels, or designated legal officers. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting legal research using internal and external databases
• Assisting in comparative legal and policy analysis
• Reviewing contracts and legal documents for compliance with World Bank policies
• Drafting and assisting in legal agreements and amendments
• Supporting project and task teams within the Legal Vice Presidency
• Participating in legal events, meetings, and conferences
• Performing additional legal tasks as assigned by supervising lawyers
