NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, through its criminal justice initiative The Square Circle Clinic, has invited applications for the posts of Senior Associate (Communications) and Associate (Communications). These are full-time contractual positions based in Delhi, offering excellent opportunities for professionals interested in communications and criminal justice work.

About The Square Circle Clinic

The Square Circle Clinic is a criminal justice programme working on:

• Pro bono legal defense for death-row prisoners
• Representation of undertrial prisoners
• Criminal justice research and advocacy
• Legal aid, mental health, and forensic justice issues
• Technology, punishment, and justice reforms

The Clinic operates from Delhi, Pune, Nagpur, and Hyderabad and was previously part of Project 39A before moving to NALSAR in April 2025.

It also works on creative communication initiatives such as:

• Mental health zines in prisons
• Criminal justice media fellowships
• Art in Prison programmes
• Graphic novel projects on the death penalty
• Social media and digital awareness campaigns

Available Job Positions

1. Senior Associate (Communications)

Number of Posts: 1

Key Qualifications

• Master’s degree in:
  • Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
• Minimum 7 years of experience in:
  • Communications
  • Public relations
  • Journalism or related sectors
• Strong understanding of:
  • Social media strategy
  • Communication planning
  • Digital engagement
• Knowledge of:
  • Audio-visual editing tools
  • Website management
• Excellent English communication skills

Preferred:

• Experience in criminal justice or access-to-justice work

Senior Associate Responsibilities

• Develop long-term communication strategies
• Manage newsletters, blogs, and social media content
• Build media networks nationally and internationally
• Coordinate events and awareness campaigns
• Collaborate with legal and research teams
• Monitor performance of communication initiatives

Salary

• ₹85,000 to ₹1,10,000 per month

2. Associate (Communications)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Law, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Strong skills in:
  • Social media management
  • Canva, Adobe tools, Photoshop, video editing
• Good English communication

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in relevant field
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS

Associate Responsibilities

• Create communication campaigns
• Manage social media and website
• Design newsletters and blogs
• Produce podcasts and multimedia content
• Coordinate outreach and collaborations
• Support awareness initiatives

Salary

• ₹65,000 to ₹75,000 per month
