Eligibility Criteria for NACO Internship 2026

Students pursuing the following courses from recognised universities or institutions are eligible to apply:

  • Undergraduate courses
  • Postgraduate courses
  • M.Phil programmes
  • PhD programmes

Students from various disciplines may apply, including:

  • Preventive & Social Medicine
  • Public Health
  • Health Management

  • Social Sciences

The list of disciplines is illustrative and not exhaustive, which means students from other relevant academic backgrounds may also apply.

Duration of Internship

The internship duration will be:

  • Minimum: 6 weeks
  • Maximum: 3 months

The duration depends on the requirements of the student’s academic programme and internship guidelines.

Candidates are also allowed to apply for a second internship with NACO in the future.

Stipend and Benefits

Selected interns will receive:

  • Monthly stipend of Rs. 8,000
  • Practical exposure in public health administration
  • Experience in HIV/AIDS control programmes

  • Interaction with government healthcare divisions

The stipend will be provided only after:

  • Successful completion of the internship
  • Submission of internship report
  • Acceptance of the report by the Reporting Officer at NACO
