The South Asian University (SAU), New Delhi, is hosting a 5-day Intensive Course on International Investment Law & Arbitration from 27th to 31st October 2025. This specialized program is designed to equip participants with advanced knowledge and practical skills in international investment law, arbitration, and dispute resolution.
Why This Course?
Over the past decade, international investment arbitration has seen significant global growth. With nearly 3,000 bilateral investment treaties and multiple multilateral agreements, the demand for professionals trained in investment law continues to rise. The European Union and other international organizations are increasingly shaping the global investment protection landscape, making this field both dynamic and career-defining.
The SAU Intensive Course provides law students and professionals with:

Course Structure: International Investment Law Course India 2025
The course is structured into 10 intensive modules, covering:
- Internationalization of foreign investment regulation
- Definitional aspects: Investor, Investment, Nationality
- International Investment Agreements (BITs, IIAs, FTAs)
- Public International Law principles relevant to investment law
- Minimum Standard of Treatment and Fair & Equitable Treatment
- Full Protection & Security, National Treatment, Most-Favoured Nation Treatment
- Protection against Expropriation, Umbrella Clauses, Transfer Clauses
- Legitimate Expectations, Stabilization Clauses, Non-precluded Measures
- Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) and recent reforms
- Legitimacy crisis and the way forward for investment arbitration

Eligibility: South Asian University Certificate Program
