The National Women Commission, Delhi (NCW) internship Programme 2025-2026 for Law Student & Psychology aims to train young students, enhance their understanding of women’s issues, and develop a pool of skilled researchers and gender-justice advocates. Interns gain exposure to policy research, gender rights, documentation, complaint processing, and various awareness initiatives.
NCW offers three internship schemes:
- Scheme A – Unpaid Internship (30 days)
- Scheme B – Paid Internship (60 days)
- Scheme C – Psychology Internship (Paid, 60 days)
NCW Internship Schemes Explained
Scheme A: Unpaid Internship (30 Days)
Eligibility:
- 1st year student of 3-year LLB
- 3rd year student of 5-year Integrated LLB
- 1st year Postgraduate student in Sociology or Social Work
This scheme is ideal for beginners looking for foundational exposure to women-related policy and legal work.
Scheme B: Paid Internship (60 Days)
Stipend: ₹10,000 per month*
Eligibility:
- 2nd year student of 3-year LLB
- 4th/5th year BA LLB / BBA LLB / B.Sc. LLB
- 2nd year student of Postgraduate courses in Sociology, Social Work, Gender Studies, or Women Studies
- Students of LLM, M.Phil, or Ph.D.
Stipend is only applicable if the intern completes the full 60-day internship.
Scheme C: Psychology Internship (Paid, 60 Days)
Stipend: ₹10,000 per month*
Eligibility:
- 2nd year MA (Psychology)
- M.Sc. Clinical Psychology
This scheme helps psychology students gain practical experience in gender-related behavioural studies and counselling research.
Important Stipend Rule
- No stipend is paid if the intern works for fewer than 60 days under Scheme B or Scheme C.
How to Apply: NCW Internship 2025
NCW has introduced an online application system to make the process easier.
Step-by-Step Application Process
- Visit the official NCW portal: ncw.gov.in
- Go to the Internship Section.
- Fill out the online application form.
- Select your preferred quarter:
- January – March
- April – June
- July – September
- October – December
- Upload a Recommendation Letter from your Institution Head/Authorized Signatory.
- Submit the form and wait for confirmation.
Key Requirements During Internship
- Maintain a daily work diary.
- Sign a confidentiality declaration regarding documents and information accessed during the internship.
NCW Internship 2026: Selection Criteria
The selection process is fully merit-based:
- 50% weightage – Academic Percentage
- 50% weightage – Statement of Purpose (SOP)
If a candidate is not selected in a particular quarter, they must apply again in the next quarter.
Important Notes: NCW Internship 2026
- The online portal remains open throughout the year.
- Candidates must choose a 3-month block while applying.
- Applications submitted before 19 September 2022 are invalid.
- The maximum number of interns in each scheme is decided by NCW authorities.
