The Journal of Intellectual Property Studies (JIPS), a prestigious publication of the National Law University, Jodhpur (ISSN No. 2583-5297), invites submissions for its upcoming issue. Scope and General Submission Guidelines

JIPS focuses exclusively on law and policy related to Intellectual Property and its associated legal fields. Submissions must adhere to the following core criteria:

  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original and should not have been previously published elsewhere.
  • Plagiarism: Any form of plagiarism will result in immediate rejection.
  • Prior Submission Disclosure: Authors must inform the Editorial Board if the manuscript is simultaneously submitted to another journal or forum. Notification of acceptance elsewhere is required immediately.
  • Post-Publication Rights: Once published in JIPS, authors must seek permission from the Editorial Board before republishing the work elsewhere.
  • Dispute Resolution: The decision of the Chief Editor is final in all disputes.

Editorial and Review Policy

JIPS ensures a rigorous and fair evaluation process:

  • Double-Blind Peer Review: The Journal strictly adheres to a double-blind peer review procedure to ensure impartial assessment.
  • Editorial Discretion: The Editorial Board retains complete discretion over the acceptance or rejection of all manuscripts.
  • Source Verification: The Journal reserves the right to request copies of any resources or authorities cited in the submission.
  • Author Status Updates: Authors will be informed of the status of their manuscript as it progresses through each review stage.

Formatting and Citation Standards

To ensure consistency and quality, authors must adhere to the following specific guidelines:

  • Anonymity: The body of the manuscript must not contain any information that discloses the author’s name, affiliation, or credentials to maintain the integrity of the double-blind review process.
  • Citations: All relevant sources must be duly acknowledged as footnotes.
  • Citation Style: The text and citation styles must conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th edition).
  • Speaking Footnotes: The use of Speaking Footnotes is allowed.

Generative AI Usage Policy

JIPS permits the limited and responsible use of Generative AI tools, provided the following guidelines are strictly followed:

Mandatory Disclosure: Authors must acknowledge the use of AI within their manuscript, disclosing the tool’s name, version, purpose, and the specific use cases. Authors remain fully accountable for the content’s integrity.

Submission Procedure

All manuscripts must be submitted according to the following procedure:

  • Exclusive Method: Manuscripts must be submitted via the dedicated Google Form only.
  • No Email Submissions: Submissions made through email (even within the deadline) will not be considered. The Journal does not accept manuscripts on a rolling basis.
  • Mandatory Abstract: All submissions must be accompanied by a mandatory abstract (250-300 words for articles/essays; 150-200 words for comments) explaining the main idea, objective, and conclusions. Submissions without an abstract will be outrightly rejected.
  • Expedited Review: Requests for expedited reviews are entertained only in exceptional circumstances. An email request detailing the reason should be sent to $\text{jips@nlujodhpur.ac.in}$.

Upon an offer of publication, authors must accept the following terms:

  • The work shall become the property of the Journal.
  • All material published in JIPS is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
  • Authors may republish their work elsewhere only with prior written permission from the Journal and compliance with the Editorial Board’s specific instructions
