Recruitment of Law Research Associates in the NCLAT is a legal professional engaged in in-depth research, case analysis, and legal drafting. They contribute to the adjudication of corporate and insolvency matters, supporting judicial processes. Law Research Associates at NCLAT assist in formulating legal opinions, preparing case summaries, and providing comprehensive legal research to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the appellate tribunal. This role requires a strong understanding of corporate and insolvency laws, meticulous research skills, and the ability to assist judges in making informed decisions on complex legal issues within the appellate jurisdiction.

Age and Nationality:

• The candidate must not have attained the age of 30 years as of the last date fixed for submission of applications as per this vacancy circular.
• The candidate must be a citizen of India

Eligibility criteria:

  • Candidate should be a Graduate in Law (including an Integrated Degree Course in Law under 10+2+3+3 or 10+2+5 pattern) with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks from any School/College/University/Institute established by law in India and recognized by the Bar Council of India for admission as Advocate or Attorney of an Indian Court.
  • Candidates who have passed all his/her examinations within the duration of their course are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have obtained his/her Law Degree/LLM not earlier than two years of the date of advertisement or any other date specified in the advertisement, are only eligible to apply for the assignment as LRA.
  • Candidates studying in the fifth year of the Five-Year Integrated Law Course or the third year of the Three-Year Law Course after graduation in any stream will also be eligible to apply, subject to furnishing proof of acquiring Law qualification before taking up the assignment as LRA.
  • Candidates pursuing Post Graduate Degree in Law or any other Degrees or Programmes requiring their compulsory attendance elsewhere, during part of the expected period of engagement as Research Associates, are not eligible to apply for the assignment as LRA.
  • Candidate must have research and analytical skills, and writing abilities, including retrieval of desired information from various search engines/processes such as eSCR, Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc; and
  • Must have good knowledge of the operation of computers and skill in using common software in use like MS Office etc.
  • Must have requisite knowledge of Company Law with IBC and in addition, the knowledge of Competition Law.Recruitment of Law Research Associates in the NCLAT.

Honorarium:

The person engaged as a Law Research Associate on a contractual basis in the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal shall be paid a consolidated fixed amount of ₹60,000/- (Rupees Sixty Thousand only) per month as Honorarium/Remuneration. No other allowances or perks shall be admissible.

(ii) Self-attested photocopies of the documents in support of age proof, eligibility criteria, and other documents/certificates as per the application.

Application Process

The application in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-A), complete in all respects may be sent to

along with all the necessary documents on or before 07th March 2024. The applications received after the closing date of receipt of applications or received without any of the necessary documents as mentioned in this vacancy circular or incomplete in any respect are liable to be rejected.
