Summer Internship at MP State Legal Services Authority 2024 (MPSLSA) offers internships for law students to gain practical legal experience. Interns can choose to work at the MPSLSA headquarters in Jabalpur or a District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in their preferred district.

Internship 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 at Chambers of 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚, Advocate on Record (AOR)

Internship Opportunity at Ardent Legal (Law Firm), Delhi

The internship involves a mix of activities:

• Observing court proceedings in different courts (magisterial, sessions, civil)
• Witnessing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms like Lok Adalat’s
• Visiting legal aid beneficiaries in jails, juvenile homes, and care facilities
• Participating in legal awareness programs

Internships typically last 3 weeks. While the application window has closed for the winter session (December-January), you can keep an eye on the MPSLSA website (https://www.mpslsa.gov.in/) for announcements regarding the next internship opportunity.

1. Visit a Central Jail or Sub Jail for one day in the district
2. Visit an Observation Home/Juvenile Justice Board for one day
3. Visit the Child Welfare Committee and Children’s Home for one day
4. Visit a home for senior citizens for one day
5. Visit a Mental health Establishment/drug addiction center for one day
6. Visit the District Courts including Magisterial, Sessions, and Civil Courts for one day.
7. Attend a legal literacy/legal awareness program in the district for one or two days.
8. Watch the mediation proceedings at the Mediation/ADR center and Lok Adalat/Permanent Lok Adalat for one day.
9. Visit a legal literacy club in a school/legal services clinic in a college and/or in the community, etc. for one day.
10. Spend the remaining days in the office of the MPSLSA Jabalpur or District Legal Services Authority to observe the working of the Front office and other activities of SLSA/DLSA.

Certification

At the end of the internship programme, certificates would be distributed to the law interns who successfully complete the programme and submit a report regarding internship.
