Eligibility criteria Chairman of Permanent Lok Adalat at BSLSA
- A person who is or has been a District Judge or Additional District Judge or has held judicial office higher in rank than that of a District Judge will be eligible for appointment.
- A person having experience of mediation & Conciliation will be given preference.
Tenure of Chairman of Permanent Lok Adalat at BSLSA
The appointment shall be for a period of 5 years or 65 years of age, whichever is earlier.
Selection Process
The Selection shall be made on the basis of performance in the Viva-Voice test (Interview) of the candidates shortlisted for this purpose. Shortlisting of the candidate will be done on the basis of service records, ACRs of the last five years, and vigilance clearance.
Disqualification
A person shall be disqualified for appointment as a Chairman if he/she
- has been convicted and sentenced to imprisonment for any offense; or
- has been adjudged as an insolvent; or
- is of unsound mind and stands so declared by a competent court; or
- has been removed or dismissed or retired compulsorily from service.
