UP Bar Advocate Registration In the context of the order dated 30.07.2024 passed by the Honorable Supreme Court in Writ Petition (C) No. 352/2023 Gaurav Kumar vs. Union of India and Others and by the Honorable Supreme Court in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 82/2023 Ajay Shankar Srivastava vs. Bar In the context of the order dated 10.04.2023 passed in the Council of India and Others and the order dated 21.12.2023 passed by the Honorable High Court, Allahabad in Writ C No. 42619/2023 Pawan Kumar Dubey vs. State of UP and 3 Others, the following rules are made. :

Advocate Registration Fee 2024

Along with the registration form, general and backward caste candidates should have to submit a bank draft of Rs 600/- in the name of Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh, Allahabad and a bank draft of Rs 150/- in the name of Bar Council of India Collection Fund Account, Allahabad.
And for SC/ST candidates, bank draft of Rs 100/- will be payable in the name of Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh, Allahabad and bank draft of Rs 25/- will be payable in the name of Bar Council of India Collection Fund Account, Allahabad.

Police Verification for UP Bar Advocate Enrollment

After submission of the form, all educational certificates/mark sheets will be sent to the concerned board and university for verification within one month. Also, for police verification, the documents will be sent to the Senior Superintendent of Police/Superintendent of Police of each district within a month.

Also, a letter will be sent to the Senior Superintendent of Police/Superintendent of Police with the intention that if any case is pending against any candidate, then send the report within 45 days and no information will be sent regarding those candidates against whom no case is pending.
There is no need to give any details. If no report is received against the concerned candidate within 45 days, then it will be assumed that no case is registered against the said candidate.

How to be an advocate – Enrollment Procedure with the Bar

After police verification and verification of educational certificates, the concerned clerk will present all the files along with his report before the Secretary, Bar Council, Uttar Pradesh for countersign within 15 days.
Secretary, Bar Council, Uttar Pradesh will forward the concerned file to the Registration Department after countersigning within the next 15 days.
The concerned employees of the Registration Department will present the said files before the Registration Committee within 30 days from the date of receipt of the files.
It is expected from all the registration committees that such files which are presented before them, they will call the concerned candidates for personal interview as per their convenience after intimating the Secretary, Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh and fixing the date within three weeks, thereafter they will take a decision soon. . If the candidates do not pass the interview, then the interview will be conducted again after 03 months.

Valid of Advocate registration Number

After all this process, temporary registration will be granted which will be valid and valid for two years.

Certificate of practice for Advocate [AIBE Exam]

In two years, every candidate who has been registered will submit the details of five cases filed or argued by him or acted as an assistant in each year, in which his name appears and in the meanwhile All India Bar Only after passing the examination (AIBE) will permanent registration be granted.
Otherwise, information will be sent to the courts of the country and state that the temporary registration of a particular candidate has expired and permanent registration has not been granted. Therefore, the candidate is not eligible to practice as an advocate.
The application for COP will be valid only after receiving the permanent certificate and the desired fee will be charged at that time.
