National Law School of India University (NLSIU) invites Queer Archive for Memory, Reflection, & Activism (QAMRA) Archival Project Associate based out of the University campus for one year. This position will be based in Bengaluru.
About the Department: Archival Project Associate
QAMRA is a physical, multimedia archive that chronicles the lives of persons marginalized based on gender and sexuality in India. It is hosted at the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru. QAMRA’s activities span archival processes, research, and public engagement.
Qualification and skill: QAMRA Archival Project
Essential
- A bachelor’s degree in social sciences, information sciences, communications, law, or a related field.
- Familiarity with queer histories and mobilization in India.
- Demonstrated interest in working with physical material in the archive.
- Be willing to acquire new skills in archiving, including software programs.
- Good communication and prior organizational experience.
Desirable
- Candidates who have experience working in archives and with archival software.
Experience: QAMRA Archival Project
Essential: Candidates with a minimum of 2 years of work experience.
