Qualifications: Legal Associate Allahabad High Court

1. Three-Year Professional/Five-Year Integrated Degree in Law obtained in the Academic Session 2024-25, from any Law College or University recognised by Bar Council of India.
2. Applications shall be accepted from such ‘Law Graduates’ who have neither practiced as an advocate nor are engaged in any other profession or vocation/service.
3. Candidates who may have appeared in LL.B. (Final Year) Examination in 2025 and may be awaiting results, may also apply.
4. Only those Law Graduates who have scored 55% or more marks in their LL.B. examination are eligible to apply for engagement as Research Associate.
5. Candidates must have a working knowledge of Computer Applications involving Data Entry, Word Processing and similar computer operations.

Academic Weightage: Legal Research Associate Allahabad High Court

• up to 60 % – 1 mark
• 60 to 70 % – 3 Marks
• Above 70% – 5 Marks

Screening Test:

The Screening Test will involve writing a paper carrying maximum 60 marks containing descriptive questions. The question paper shall be of one hour duration only.

Interview:

Interview Test shall be conducted for all Shortlisted Candidates. It shall carry 20 marks.

• The Final Merit List shall be prepared on the strength of aggregate marks obtained by individual candidates at the stage of Shortlisting (weightage marks) + marks awarded at the Screening Test + marks awarded at the Interview Test, as above.
• Selected candidates would be required to produce their original Final Year Marksheet/Certificate, on the date of joining or as per the directions issued in this regard.
• The Screening & Interview Tests may be held at Prayagraj at place as may be notified.

Nature of work: Law Research Associate Allahabad High Court

• The successful candidates will be attached with the Hon’ble Judges at Allahabad or Lucknow Bench, Lucknow, and shall discharge their duties under the directions of the Judge to whom they may be attached.
• The Research Associates will be required to carry out research work on legal points and principles as desired by the Judge to whom they may be attached. Besides attending the Chamber of the Judge, the Research Associate would be required to attend hearing to take notes, etc.
• The research work assigned to the Research Associate may include performing legal research, drafting, preparation of note sheets, study of statutes, etc.
• Assistance from the Research Associate may also be taken in proper maintenance of case files, preparation, research of academic papers, maintaining a record of judgments, the points of law decided in various judgments by a Judge, etc.
• Apart from duties and responsibilities enumerated above, the Research Associate shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Judge.
