9th National Moot Court Competition by Smt. Kamalaben Gambhirchan (KG) Shah Law School 2025. Seva Mandal Education Society’s Smt. Kamalaben Gambhirchand Shah Law School, Matunga, Mumbai organizes 9th National Moot Court Competition 2025 to be held on 5th-6th April 2025

Date, Venue & Language of the Competition:

  • The date for the Competition is 5th April, 2025 to 6th April, 2025.
  • The Venue of the Competition is:– The language of the competition shall be English.

Venue:

Smt. K.G. Shah Law School, Room No. 601, 6th Floor, Smt. Parmeshwari Devi Gordhandas Garodia Educational Complex, 338, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Rd, Matunga East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400019

Dress Code

  • The dress code is Black and White formals for Males & Black and White western / Indian formals for Females.
  • Advocate’s gown and white band are prohibited.

Eligible Team

  • Bona-fide students pursuing Law Degree Course under 3 years or 5 years integrated course during the academic year 2024-2025 from any Institute recognised by Bar Council of India, or pursuing LL.M during the academic year 2024-2025 are eligible to participate.
  • The students must be deputed by their respective colleges.

Team Composition

  • Each participating college/ university/ Law School may send only one team.
  • Each team shall consist of maximum 2 (two) members. Both members shall present in the capacity as Mooter. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances.
  • Each team will be provided with a unique team code by draw of lots to be held on 5th April, 2025.

Important date

  • 20th March 2025: Last Date of Registration
  • 25th March 2025: Last Date for seeking clarifications
  • 28th March, 2025: Last Date for submission of Memorials
  • 05th April, 2025: Orientation ceremony (Reporting time to the college at 8.00 am sharp) and thereafter Preliminary Round.
  • 06th April, 2025: Semi-final round (at 8.00 a.m.) and thereafter the Final Round.
  • 06th April, 2025: Valedictory function followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony.

Written Submission: KG Shah Law School Moot Court

  • The Written Submissions shall be on behalf of the Petitioner as well as the Respondent.
  • All selected teams are required to submit Written Memorials on or before 28th March, 2025. Delay in submission will invite deduction in marks. The decision of the organizers in this regard shall be final and binding.
  • Teams must note that the Written Memorials shall carry 50 marks.
  • The Memorial Marks shall be added into the cumulative total marks of both the Preliminary round.
  • The format for the written submissions is as follows:
  • Word Limit – No Word Limit. However, the arguments advanced shall not exceed 25 pages.
  • Content of the Written Submissions/Memorials shall be as follows:
    • Cover Page
    • Index
    • Index of Authorities
    • Issues
    • Arguments Advanced
    • Prayers
  • Participants are expected to submit only the soft copies of the written submissions/memorials (pdf format only) latest by 25th March, 2025.

Please note that it is not necessary to submit hard copies of the written submissions prior to the competition. However, teams are required to carry along with them, 6 copies of the written submissions on the date of the competition.
