We are excited to invite you to the “National Legal Startup and Business Plan Ideation Competition” 2025, organized in collaboration with the Vidyaranya Academic Outreach Committee DNLU.ย Join us on 19th April 2025 at the Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, for an event that promises to be a remarkable experience.
Eligibility: National Legal Startup and Business Plan Ideation Competition 2025
- The Business Plan Ideation Competition is open to students with Degrees or Postgraduate Degrees. Currently pursuing their Undergraduate
- Students from any academic discipline, including law, business, management, engineering, and related fields.
- Professionals who have initiated a startup, recently launched a business, or are in the ideation stage of their entrepreneurial journey.
- There are no restrictions based on the stage of the business plan. Whether a participant is at the conceptual stage, has recently started operations, or is looking to refine an existing idea, all are welcome to compete on an equal footing.
Note: The evaluation process will focus on the innovation, feasibility, legal soundness, and strategic approach of the business plan, rather than the stage of the startup. Winning or losing will not be determined by how developed the business is but by the strength and viability of the idea.
Stages: National Legal Startup and Business Plan Ideation Competition 2025
The Business Plan Ideation Competition will be conducted in the following stages:
- Initial Submission Round:
- All participating teams must submit their detailed Business Plan within the prescribed deadline.
- The business plan should outline the idea, its legal and management aspects, feasibility, and implementation strategy.
- Shortlisting of Top 10 Teams:
- Based on the evaluation of the submitted business plans, the top 10 teams will qualify for the next round.
- The selection will be based on innovation, legal soundness, feasibility, and overall business strategy.
- Final Presentation Round:
- The qualified teams will be required to present their business plan in front of the jury through a mandatory PowerPoint Presentation.
- If the business model requires a mock drill or demonstration, teams must incorporate it into their presentation.
- Q&A Round with Judges:
- After the presentation, the judges will engage with the team in a Question & Answer round to assess the depth and viability of the idea.
- Each team will get 15 minutes in total (including both presentation and Q&A).
Business/Idea Proposal Format

- Executive Summary
- Business idea in detail- Mention the objective behind the idea or the initiative undertaken, details of the plans put forth for the fulfillment of the objective, and detailed mention of the objectives of the initiative.
- Problem โ Mention the background behind the idea. Identify and highlight the problem the business has been trying to address.
- Solution โ Mention the solution proposed and highlight the extent to which a solution can be achieved.
- Market โ How big is the market? The expectant population that can benefit from the initiative includes market analysis such as SWOT Analysis, PESTEL Analysis (SWOT analysis- Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunity, Threats; PESTEL analysis โ Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, and Legal)
- Competition โ How do you plan to compete against existing solutions?
- USP (Unique Selling Proposition)
- Execution Plan โ How execution is being done? (In Stages)
- Legal compliances & IP protectionโ What laws are complied with for setting up and registering the startup? What IP protection is given for the logo/name/services provided?
- Financials โ What is the present and projected financial performance? Sources of Funds, Revenue Model, Allocation of funds are to be mentioned too.
- Milestones โ What are the proposed milestones the business must achieve in the legal field?

- WINNER โ โน10,000 & Trophy
- RUNNER-UPโ โน7,000 & Trophy
- All participants will be receiving a Certificate of Participation and Merit.

- Registration starts – 15th March 2025
- Registration ends – 30th March 2025
- Submission of business plan – 2nd April 2025
- Result of teams qualified for the next round – 5th April 2025
- Presentation Rounds – 19th April 2025
