ToggleAbout NALSAR Prison Legal Aid Cell Internship
The NALSAR Prison Legal Aid Cell is pleased to invite applications for internship positions in collaboration with the Access to Justice Program for Prisoners. This initiative provides an opportunity for students to engage directly with the criminal justice system ensuring the equitable delivery of justice to incarcerated individuals.
The Prison Justice Program focuses on providing crucial legal aid to prisoners in Hyderabad’s correctional facilities: Central Prison of Chanchalguda, Central Prison of Cherlapally, and Special Prison for Women. Working alongside full-time Advocates and social workers, the program identifies undertrial prisoners (UTPs) as recognized by NALSA and offers them essential socio-legal services.
Eligibility
It is open to all students enrolled in the 5-year BA LLB program.
Duration
A minimum commitment of one month is required. Interest in criminal justice reform and prison welfare and willingness to work in challenging environments would be appreciated.
Application Procedure
Interested students are requested to complete the application form using the link below. The selection criteria are based on the statement of purpose (SOP) outlining your interest in prison legal aid and your curriculum vitae (CV). Shortlisted candidates will then be called for an interview.
