The London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) is inviting applications for its Casework Internships scheduled from April 2026 to September 2026. This is a full-time, paid internship offering two positions per intake. The programme is designed for law students and early-career professionals interested in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
Interns will work directly with the LCIA casework team, supporting Counsel in the administrative handling of LCIA arbitration cases and other ADR processes. Each intern will have a dedicated mentor who will guide their induction, training, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities of LCIA Casework Interns
During the six-month internship, selected interns will engage in a range of professional tasks, including:
Drafting Responsibilities
Interns will prepare first drafts of:
- Initial letters to parties acknowledging the Request for Arbitration
- Case summaries and procedural histories for submission to the LCIA Court President or Vice Presidents
- Statements of independence and availability for arbitrator candidates
- Forms of appointment for LCIA Court signatures and related notices to parties
- Email correspondence and letters to the Arbitral Tribunal
- Independence and availability statements for tribunal secretaries
- Independence statements for arbitrators deciding challenges
Administrative & Casework Support
Interns will also participate in:
- Reviewing arbitral awards for typographical errors and accuracy of procedural dates
- Providing administrative support to Counsel and casework staff
- Assisting with additional tasks related to ongoing arbitration cases

Must-Have Qualifications
To be considered for the LCIA Casework Internship, applicants should have:
- A strong interest in international arbitration
- An excellent academic record
- A high level of proficiency in English, particularly in written communication

Compensation: LCIA Internship 2026
This internship is fully paid at a rate above the London Living Wage, ensuring fair compensation for all interns throughout the programme.
