The Asia Justice Coalition (AJC) is inviting applications for its Law and Policy Research Internship 2026. This fully remote internship offers law students and recent graduates an exceptional opportunity to contribute to high-impact legal research on justice and accountability across Asia.

About Asia Justice Coalition (AJC)

The AJC is a network of organizations committed to promoting justice for victims of gross human rights violations and humanitarian law breaches. Initially focused on Myanmar, the Coalition now works across the Asian region to support victims and their families. Since 2020, AJC has led initiatives to explore domestic avenues for international justice through its Universal Jurisdiction Convening Series.

Internship Overview

The internship runs for eight weeks, providing flexible remote work opportunities. Key details include:

  • Location: Remote (work from anywhere)
  • Commitment: 7.5 hours per week (flexible hours)
  • Stipend: Available for selected candidates
  • Duration: February 2026 – April 2026

Roles and Responsibilities

Interns will actively support legal research and advocacy efforts. Main responsibilities:

  • Legal Research: Conduct directed research on international and domestic law topics, including non-refoulement, human trafficking, and environmental destruction as international crimes.
  • Drafting: Prepare concise summaries and analysis of research findings.
  • Editorial Support: Assist in proofreading and editing official AJC reports.

Candidate Requirements

AJC seeks candidates with a strong foundation in international criminal justice and transitional justice.

Academic Qualifications

  • Recent law graduates (LLB, LLM, or JD)
  • Current postgraduate law students
  • Final-year undergraduate law students

  • Research Expertise: Proven experience in complex legal research
