NHRC Online Short-Term Internship 2026

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is inviting applications for its prestigious Online Short-Term Internship Programme – February 2026 Batch. This two-week paid virtual internship is designed to promote human rights awareness and literacy among university students across India, as mandated under Section 12(h) of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.

Since 1998, NHRC has been running structured internship programmes to encourage youth participation in the protection and promotion of human rights.

• Internship Name: OSTI – February 2026
• Mode: Online / Virtual
• Duration: 02 February 2026 to 13 February 2026
• Timings: 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM (Monday to Friday)
• Nature: Full-Time Internship
• Stipend: ₹2,000 on successful completion
• Maximum Age Limit: Not more than 28 years as on 01 January 2026

Eligibility Criteria for NHRC Online Internship 2026

Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

• Students studying in 3rd year or above of 5-year integrated courses
• Students in 3rd / final year of graduation
• Students of any semester/year of post-graduate degree or LL.B. programme
• Students pursuing post-graduate diploma courses
• Research Scholars from any discipline
• Must have minimum 60% marks in:
• Class 12
  • All semesters of graduation
  • All semesters of currently pursued course

Applicants must clearly convert CGPA/SGPA into percentage and mention the conversion formula. Failure to do so will lead to rejection.

How to Apply for NHRC Virtual Internship 2026

Candidates must submit an online application along with a 250-word Statement of Purpose (SOP) on the topic:

“Statement of Purpose for joining NHRC Online Short-Term Internship”

Your SOP should include:

• Interest in human rights research
• Past involvement in moot courts, internships, research projects, or co-curricular activities

Students with demonstrated research potential in human rights will be given preference.

Applications without the following documents will be rejected:

• Self-attested scanned copies of:
  • Class 10 & 12 mark-sheets
  • All semesters of graduation
  • All semesters of currently pursued course
• Scanned Statement of Purpose (SOP)
• Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from:
  • HOD / Dean / Principal
  • Must be dated after the advertisement date

⚠️ This is a full-time programme. No leave will be entertained.
