The 2nd IDIA – NLIU CBCL National Essay Writing Competition 2026 is a prestigious national-level writing competition designed to encourage legal scholarship, critical thinking, and social responsibility. Organized by the IDIA MP Chapter in collaboration with the Centre for Business and Commercial Laws (CBCL), NLIU Bhopal, and sponsored by S&R Associates, this competition offers law students and professionals a unique opportunity to engage with contemporary legal issues while contributing to a meaningful social cause.

About the Organisers
🔹 IDIA – Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access
Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access (IDIA) is a non-profit organization working to empower underprivileged and marginalized children by providing access to quality legal education.
- Founded in 2010 by Late Prof. (Dr.) Shamnad Basheer
- Active in 20+ states across India
- Supported by 1000+ volunteers nationwide
- Focused on:
- Sensitizing students to pursue law as a career
- Identifying talented students from marginalized communities
- Providing training and scholarships for law school admissions
🔹 IDIA MP Chapter
The IDIA MP Chapter, run by students of National Law Institute University, Bhopal, plays a key role in implementing IDIA’s mission in Madhya Pradesh.
- 50+ active student volunteers
- Conducts law entrance exam training programs
- Organizes fundraising initiatives
- Promotes awareness about legal education across MP
Through these efforts, the chapter strengthens access to justice and diversity in law schools.
🔹 Centre for Business and Commercial Laws (CBCL), NLIU
The CBCL at NLIU Bhopal is dedicated to advancing scholarship in business and commercial laws. By collaborating in this competition, CBCL provides a platform for meaningful academic engagement and legal enlightenment.
