Eligibility Criteria: NUALS University Research Fellowship

To apply for the URF, candidates must:

  • Be a full-time Ph.D. research scholar at NUALS
  • Be registered under the Ph.D. Regulations, 2016
  • Not be engaged in any employment or receiving other financial assistance

Selection Procedure

  • Fellowship is awarded by the Executive Council
  • Based on recommendations from a Selection Committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor

Composition of Selection Committee

  • Senior faculty member (minimum rank: Associate Professor)
  • Representative from Executive Council
  • External expert nominated by the Vice-Chancellor

Fellowship Benefits

  • Financial assistance as prescribed by the University
  • Additional contingent grant (as per university rules)
  • Support for research activities during Ph.D.

Duration of Fellowship

  • Maximum tenure: 3 years
  • Extension based on performance and fulfillment of conditions

Important Conditions

General Conditions

  • No other employment or stipend allowed during fellowship
  • Mandatory academic assistance: Minimum 4 hours per week
  • Fellowship must be claimed through official billing process

Leave Policy

  • Maximum leave allowed: 1 year (without fellowship benefits)

Agreement Requirement

  • Selected candidates must sign an agreement on Rs. 200 stamp paper

Conditions for Extension

Second Year Extension

  • Successful completion of course work
  • At least:
    • One research publication, or
    • One seminar paper presentation

Third Year Extension

  • At least one published research paper in a recognized journal
  • Positive assessment by the Research Committee
