About the NGT Internship Programme 2026

The internship will be conducted at the Principal Bench of the National Green Tribunal, New Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Students pursuing a Three-Year LL.B. or Five-Year Integrated Law Course from a recognized college, law school, or university in India.
- Students pursuing Environmental Studies from recognized educational institutions.
- Candidates should have an interest in environmental law and related legal issues.
Internship Duration
- The internship duration is four weeks.
- The programme is conducted during the notified internship period.
Stipend
- No stipend or remuneration will be provided.
- Interns must bear their own travel, accommodation, and other personal expenses.
Recommendation Letter Requirement
Selected applicants will be required to submit:
- A Recommendation Letter or
- A No Objection Certificate (NOC)
issued by the Director, Dean, Principal, or Head of Department of their respective institution after receiving communication from the Tribunal.
Internship Activities
During the internship, interns may be assigned the following tasks:
- Conduct legal and environmental research.
- Study case files and Tribunal proceedings.
- Prepare legal notes and research summaries.
- Work under the guidance of assigned officers.
- Assist in research relating to environmental law.
- Present a research paper or report on an assigned topic at the conclusion of the internship.
Intellectual Property Guidelines
Interns should note the following:
- All research papers, reports, notes, and assignments prepared during the internship shall remain the intellectual property of the National Green Tribunal.
- Such work cannot be published, reproduced, or used elsewhere without obtaining prior approval from the Tribunal.
