ToggleOnline Certificate Program on Criminal Law: Practice and Procedure (February 10–12, 2026)
The Indian Law Society (ILS), a premier institution established in 1923, continues its legacy of delivering high-quality legal education through its initiative “Towards Conscious Legal Education (TCLE)”. Under this initiative, ILS is launching an Online Autonomous Certificate Program on “Criminal Law: Practice and Procedure”, scheduled from 10 to 12 February 2026.
This short-term yet intensive program is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical criminal law and its practical application at different stages of the criminal justice process.
About the Certificate Program
The Online Autonomous Certificate Program on Criminal Law: Practice and Procedure focuses on the practical functioning of criminal procedure before trial, during trial, and after trial. It equips participants with a working understanding of procedural laws, courtroom practices, and strategic application of criminal law principles.
The program is especially relevant in the context of evolving criminal procedures and increasing emphasis on procedural compliance in criminal litigation.
Objectives of the Program
The program aims to help participants:
- Understand the practical framework of criminal procedure
- Learn how criminal law operates before, during, and after trials
- Apply procedural provisions in pre-trial actions, pleadings, and trial advocacy
- Develop clarity on sentencing, appeals, and post-trial remedies
