MNLU Mumbai Certificate Course on Trademark Law and International Brand Protection: September 2026

MNLU Mumbai is organising a five-day online Certificate Course on Trademark Law and International Brand Protection in September 2026.

The programme is designed to provide participants with a practical and academic understanding of modern trademark law and global brand protection. It covers important areas ranging from trademark registration and distinctiveness to international protection, personality rights and anti-counterfeiting measures.

Course Schedule

The sessions will be conducted online through Zoom.

• 7 September 2026: Foundations of Trademark Law: Registrability and Distinctiveness
• 8 September 2026: Non-Conventional and Well-known Trademarks
• 9 September 2026: Madrid System and International Trademark Protection
• 10 September 2026: Personality Rights, Publicity Rights and Trademark Law
• 11 September 2026: Anti-counterfeiting, Investigation, Customs Recordation and Cross-Border Protection

The regular session timing is 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Faculty and Course Leadership

The programme features academicians, legal professionals and intellectual property practitioners. The course is directed by Prof. Uma Bhattad, IPR Chair Professor, DPIIT-IPR Chair, MNLU Mumbai, and Prof. (Dr.) Ragini P. Khubalkar, Professor of Law and Coordinator, CRIP, MNLU Mumbai.

The university team also includes Dr. Sajid Sheikh, Ms. Nupur Adawadkar and Ms. Aditi Bhand.

Assessment and E-Certificate

Participants will have to complete an MCQ-based assessment on the final day through Google Forms.

• Minimum passing score: 50%
• Feedback form completion is mandatory
• Eligible participants will receive an e-Certificate
• Participants should join the online sessions approximately 15 minutes early
