ToggleAbout: Online Certificate Course in International Law of the Sea
The NLU Delhi Offer Online course is designed to offer a critical inquiry into the International Law of the Sea 2025. The Law of the Sea (or ocean law) is a body of international law governing the rights and duties of states in maritime environments. It concerns matters such as navigational rights, sea mineral claims, and coastal waters jurisdiction. The connotation of ocean law is somewhat broader, but the law of the sea (anchored in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)) is so comprehensive that it covers all areas of ocean law as well (e.g., marine environmental law, maritime law). These are the areas that require an in-depth analysis as countries have varying claims of entitlements and rights in that have been subject to claims and litigation, and these are the themes that are scarcely included in the regular curriculum and the teaching-learning process. The sessions are arranged thematically as per the various dimensions and facets of the law of the Sea.
The course will be held online over five days with a total of 10 hours [2 hours each day]. All five days of the course are dedicated to the delivery and discussion of one theme. The course is of a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn more about this area from leading academicians of the country.
