A Fulfilling Internship at A K Mylsamy & Associates LLP: A Step Forward in My Legal Journey

This intensive period provided invaluable hands-on exposure to a diverse array of commercial and corporate legal matters, significantly enhancing my practical understanding of the legal field.

During my time at the firm, I had the privilege of engaging in a wide spectrum of legal activities, including:
- Extensive Legal Research: I conducted in-depth research on crucial legislation such as the Indian Contract Act, Companies Act, Specific Relief Act, Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Act, and the Industrial Disputes (ID) Act.
- Drafting Legal Opinions: A significant part of my work involved drafting legal opinions, particularly concerning the intricate process of workmen transfer during ID proceedings.
- Preparation of Legal Notes: I gained experience in preparing detailed notes on various legal subjects, including Determinable Contracts, Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) restrictions, TNCDRBR-2019, and Inter-jurisdictional Wills.
- GST Implications: I delved into the Goods and Services Tax (GST) implications on software import and the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM).
- Corporate Legalities: My work also covered Dissolution Deeds, various methods of capital raising, and contiguity issues under the SEZ Act.
- Procedural Law: I gained insights into Order VII Rule 14(3) of the Civil Procedure Code and matters related to arbitration-related stamp duty.
- Court and Tribunal Exposure: A particularly enriching experience was attending NCLT (National Company Law Tribunal) hearings concerning IBC (Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code) and Companies Act matters.
- Case Management: I assisted in filings and the meticulous organization of case files for both NCLT and Madras High Court proceedings.
This internship was an exceptional learning curve, and I am deeply grateful to Subathra Mylsamy Ma’am, the Managing Partner, for providing me with this incredible opportunity to learn and grow professionally. Her guidance was instrumental in shaping my experience.
