About the Industrial Tribunal-cum-Labour Court Vacancy.

Industrial Tribunal-cum-Labour Court Vacancy (IT-cum-LC) is a single forum handling industrial disputes in India’s central government sector. Established under the Industrial Disputes Act, of 1947, it aims to resolve conflicts between employees and employers to maintain industrial peace and growth. These courts, spread across various states, are presided over by experienced judges and handle issues like termination, wages, and benefits. They also function as National Tribunals in some locations and can adjudicate appeals related to the Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act.

Qualification for Presiding officer in Industrial Tribunal-cum-Labour Court.

The qualification, eligibility, salary, and other terms, and conditions for the appointment of a candidate will be governed by the provisions of the Tribunal Reforms Act,2021 & Tribunal (conditions of service) Rules 2021, The length of service as per eligibility criteria will be reckoned as on the first date of receiving Applications as this vacancy circular.

Application of eligible and willing officers are requested through the registrar, high court/ ministry of law and justice and should be accompanied.

  • biodata in the prescribed proforma in Annexure-1
  • Certificate to be furnished by the head of the office as in Annexure-2
  • Clear Photocopy of the up-to-date CR/APAR dossier of the officer containing CRs/APARs of at least the last five years duly attested by a group A officer.
  • statement giving details of major or minor penalties, if any, imposed on the officer during the last ten years, to the following address, so as to reach this office latest by 5.30 PM on 30 June 2024

Procedure for selection

The Search-cum-Section Committee constituted under the Tribunal Reforms Act 2021, for recommending names for appointment to the post of Presiding Officer, shall scrutinize the applications concerning the suitability of applicants for the said posts by giving due weightage to the qualification and experience of candidates and shortlist candidates for conducting personal interaction. The final selection will be done based on the overall evaluation of candidates done by the Committee based on qualification, experience, and personal interaction.
