About Consultant (Sentencing) at NLU Delhi
Consultant (Sentencing) at NLU Delhi, The National Law University Delhi (‘University’) through Project 39A is seeking to engage on a contractual basis, two Consultants (Sentencing) at its campus in Dwarka, New Delhi. The contract will be for four months initially and can be extended at the discretion of the University. The Consultants will be persons with expertise in child rights issues, particularly in sexual violence against children, who will advise on developing sentencing arguments in death penalty cases handled by Project 39A.
Responsibilities of Consultant (Sentencing) at NLU Delhi
- Advice on devising legal strategy and arguments on sentencing in capital cases involving sexual offences against children handled by Project 39A.
- Advice in developing mitigation strategies in death penalty cases involving sexual offences against children.
- Review sentencing aspects of draft criminal appeals, review petitions, and curative petitions.
- Any other work that may be necessary to further the aims of Project 39A
Qualifications for Consultant (Sentencing) at NLU Delhi
- Law graduate with a master’s degree in law or allied disciplines
- A minimum experience of 10 years working on child rights with demonstrable expertise on issues concerning sexual violence against children.
- Significant and demonstrable experience in conceptualising and leading empirical research on criminal justice issues relating to the rights of children.
Compensation:
The compensation will range between Rs 50,000-75,000/- per month and will be commensurate with experience.
