Mr. [Hidden], a [Hidden] student of [Hidden], Kottayam, completed a 25-day internship at the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kottayam, from 1st April 2025 to 5th May 2025. This internship was conducted under the supervision of the Women & Child Development Department, Government of Kerala, and focused on child welfare and protection services.

Social Investigation Reports
He actively assisted in preparing Social Investigation Reports (SIRs) for children who were identified as needing care and protection. These reports played a crucial role in judicial and welfare decisions by assessing the social and familial background of children.
Life Skill Training for Children
He conducted Life Skills sessions for children residing in various Child Care Institutions (CCIs). These sessions focused on essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, decision-making, and self-awareness, helping children develop confidence and emotional strength.

Observation of Key Child Welfare Bodies
He had the opportunity to observe the functioning of:
- Child Welfare Committee (CWC)
- District Resource Centre (DRC)
- KAVAL and KAVAL PLUS Programs
- SARANABALYAM Shelter Home
- Specialized Adoption Agency
- Child Helpline Services
These observations enriched his practical understanding of how government and NGO bodies function in the area of child protection.
Visits to Child Care Institutions
He visited multiple Child Care Institutions, understanding the living conditions, rehabilitation services, and support mechanisms in place for children.
Legal and Policy Awareness: Women & Child Development Kerala, Internship Experience
Orientation on Child Protection Laws
During his internship, [Hidden] received orientation and practical insight into various child-related laws, including:
- Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act (JJ Act)
- Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act
