My Internship Experience
I am Mahek Patel, a law student from Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar, Punjab. I had the opportunity to intern (Internship) at Lex Maven Law Firm from 1st May 2025 to 30th June 2025. This internship was an enriching journey that helped me bridge the gap between academic learning and practical exposure to the legal profession.

Learning About Law Firm Functioning
During my time at the firm, I gained a clear understanding of how a law office functions. Observing the hierarchy—partners, associates, and interns—gave me insights into teamwork, coordination, and case management. I realized the importance of discipline, professionalism, and effective collaboration in handling client matters.
Drafting Experience

Legal Research Work
Research formed a major part of my internship. I used platforms such as SCC Online, Manupatra, and Indian Kanoon to analyze judgments and statutes. This experience sharpened my ability to frame queries, identify precedents, and apply them effectively to ongoing cases.
Exposure to Corporate Work
Besides litigation, I was also introduced to corporate law practice. I reviewed contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and memorandums of understanding, which enhanced my knowledge of preventive law and compliance requirements. This exposure highlighted how careful drafting can prevent future disputes.
Soft Skills Gained
Beyond technical knowledge, the internship polished my soft skills. Interacting with seniors and clients boosted my confidence, while managing deadlines taught me time management and adaptability. Professional communication and punctuality became integral parts of my work ethic.
