A Public Prosecutor in the Central Bureau of Investigation
(CBI) is a legal professional who represents the CBI in court. They are
responsible for prosecuting cases investigated by the CBI, which typically
involve serious crimes such as corruption, bribery, and economic offenses.
Public Prosecutors in the CBI play a vital role in upholding
the law and ensuring that justice is served. They must have a strong
understanding of the criminal justice system and be able to effectively present
their case in court. They must also be able to work closely with the CBI’s
investigating officers to ensure that all relevant evidence is gathered and
presented to the court.
Public Prosecutors in the CBI are appointed by the Union
Public Service Commission (UPSC) through a competitive examination. They are
required to have a degree in law from a recognized university and at least
seven years of experience practicing criminal law.
Scheme of the Test:
(a) The test will be of two hours duration.

(c) The test will be objective type questions with multiple choices of answer.
(d) The medium of the test will be English only.
(e) There will be penalty for wrong answers. Every wrong answer will carry a deduction of one-third of the marks assigned to that question. If no answer is marked for a question, there will be no penalty for that question.
(f) The Test will carry a maximum of 300 marks.
