DSLSA Winter Internship 2024

Delhi State Legal Services Authority @ DSLSA Winter Internship 2024 is offering an opportunity to law students to witness and have experience working with this Authority which is working tirelessly towards achieving “Access to Justice for all”.  DSLSA invites online applications for the Winter Internship Program –2023- 24 from law students at various Law Universities/Colleges in India.

objective of DSLSA Internship

The objective of the Internship program is to provide first-hand experience day-to-day operations of the Authority by closely working at the grassroots level of our Society as well as hands-on experience on legal issues faced by people at large.  This is a unique opportunity to have an understanding of the Free Legal Aid System and how different stakeholders work in tandem with each other to ensure that the benefit of various welfare schemes of the Government, as well as DSLSA/NALSA, reach the marginalized section of society. We invite applications from motivated Law students who take initiative and have the zeal to work for the marginalized sections of the society to join hands with us. We welcome flexible students, who have a positive attitude, and empathy to work for different sections of society.

Who can apply?

Law students pursuing Five years Course and Three Years Course are eligible to apply for this program.

Skills required.

Efficiency in written Communication (English), Legal writing, Basic legal knowledge, computer operation in Word/Excel/PPT

Timeline:

1st December 2023 (From 10:00 AM onwards)

Students can apply for Winter Internship online through the website www.dslsa.org starting from 01.12.2023 from 10:00
AM onwards.

14th December 2023 (Till 5:00 PM)

The application should be submitted with a scanned copy of the Identity Card issued from the College/University& and a passport-size photograph of the applicant along with a recommendation letter issued by the principal /HOD of the Law Department. If case desired documents are not attached, then the application will not be considered. Save in
exceptional cases& and circumstances the Authority shall have the discretion to waive the condition. 19thDecember, 2023 Enrolled/ Shortlisted students will be informed via e-mail. Students will be shortlisted based on the draw of lots if more than the required applications are received.

21st December 2023

Students shall send a confirmation e-mail of their participation in the Internship program within 3 days of receiving information about being shortlisted.

05th to 25thJanuary, 2024 Period of Internship

B. Special Courts dealing with cases under Section 138 N.I. Act C. Observation Homes for Juveniles.

D. Mental Health Institution (IHBAS)

H. Family Courts

I. Labour Courts and tribunals including Armed Forces Tribunal, Debt Recovery Tribunal, MCD Appellate Tribunal, Consumer Forums, etc.

J. Juvenile Justice Boards

K. Children Homes & Child Welfare Committees

L. (Civil & Criminal Sides) District Courts

M. LokAdalats 

N. Tihar & Rohini Jails

O. Special Juvenile Police Unit, Delhi Police.

P. Police Stations/ Forensic Science Laboratory

Academic Credit

Internship Certificate at the successful completion of the internship subject to submission of Project Report on the topic provided during the Internship & also to submit brief/write up (3-4 pages) on any of the topics dealt with during the Internship.

Attendance

Minimum 75% attendance is a must for the Internship.
