Competition Guidelines
The Legal Mind’s First Online Moot Court Competition
To ensure a smooth and fair experience for all participants, the following rules and guidelines shall be strictly adhered to:
Eligibility
- The competition is open to all law students enrolled in a recognized law school/college/university.
- A team must consist of two speakers and one researcher. However, participation as a team of two (both speakers) is also allowed.
- Multiple teams from one college/university can take participation.
- Individual teams are also allowed
Registration
- Teams must register by filling out the official registration form and paying the required fee of Rs399.
- Each team will be assigned a unique Team Code after successful registration.
- No changes in team composition will be allowed after registration.
- Last date of registration is 10th September
Format of the Competition
- The competition will be held online via platforms like Zoom/Google Meet.
- It will consist of:
- Preliminary Rounds
- Quarterfinals
- Semi-Final
- Final Round
Moot Proposition
- The problem for the competition will be released on 4th August, 2025
- The subject matter will be based on Criminal Law
Memorial Submission
(i) Each team must submit memorials for both sides (Petitioner and Respondent).
(ii) Memorials must follow the prescribed format which will be shared in the rulebook.
(iii) Late date of submission of moot memorial is 10th November 2025
6. Oral Rounds
Each team will be allotted 30 minutes total, i.e., 15 minutes per speaker (flexible within the team).
Rebuttals (for Petitioner) and Sur-rebuttals (for Respondent) are allowed within the total time.
The oral rounds will be judged based on:
(i) Knowledge of Law & Facts
(ii) Application of Law
(iii) Argumentation Style
(iv) Court Etiquette
(v) Response to Questions
7. Technical Requirements
(i) Participants must have a stable internet connection and a working mic/camera.
(ii) All rounds will be recorded for transparency and review.
(iii) Professional courtroom decorum and formal attire are mandatory during oral rounds.
8. Important Dates
(i) Last date of registration: 10th November, 2025
(ii) Last date of memorial submission: 18th Nov, 2025
(iii) Competition Dates: 25th September to 27th Nov 2025

(i)Best Team
(ii) Best Speaker
(iii) Best Memorial
(iv) Best Researcher
(v) E-certificates will be provided to all participants.

Code of Conduct
- Any form of plagiarism, misconduct, or misrepresentation will lead to disqualification.
- Judges’ decisions shall be final and binding.
- The organizers reserve the right to resolve any disputes or modify rules if necessary.
