Hidayatullah National Law University Hosts Anti-Drug Awareness Programme
Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Nava Raipur, organised an awareness and pledge-taking programme under the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” campaign on 2 August 2026. The initiative aimed to encourage students, faculty members, and staff to promote a drug-free lifestyle and contribute to building a healthier and more responsible society.
The programme was coordinated by the Legal Aid and Social Services Committee (LSSC), HNLU, as part of the Government of India’s nationwide campaign focused on creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Objectives of the Campaign
The campaign seeks to inspire young people to:
- Adopt a drug-free and healthy lifestyle.
- Spread awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.

Pledge Ceremony at HNLU Campus
The pledge-taking ceremony was conducted at 11:00 AM in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the HNLU campus.
Students, faculty members, and university staff participated enthusiastically and collectively pledged to:
- Stay away from drugs and substance abuse.
- Promote healthy living among peers and society.
- Raise awareness about the negative impact of addiction.
- Support the national mission of creating a drug-free India.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. V.C. Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor of HNLU, emphasised that the country’s future depends on healthy, informed, and responsible young citizens.
He noted that tackling substance abuse requires more than regulations. According to him, educational institutions must encourage awareness, personal responsibility, and collective social action so that students become ambassadors of positive change within society.
He also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting national initiatives that promote public awareness, social responsibility, and youth empowerment.

As part of the campaign, participants generated their individual Pledge Certificates through the MY Bharat Application, demonstrating their personal commitment to supporting a drug-free India.
